Sensitive teeth

Preventing tenderness

Erosion of the outer layer of the tooth can lead to sensitivity. It can be caused by:

  • Regularly consuming very sugary or acidic food or drink
  • Overly enthusiastic brushing
  • Teeth grinding and clenching (bruxism)
  • Certain medical conditions
  • Eating disorders

If you do have sensitive teeth, eating and drinking very hot or cold food and drink can cause ‘ouch’ moments. However, we can identify and treat the cause and eliminate any pain.
